Nintendo has best March ever thanks to 3DS, Pokemon
Nintendo is reporting that their new 3DS handheld system sold enough units to make March the company’s best March ever.
The 3D glasses-free handheld shipped more than 400,000 in it’s first week. Add to that the jaw-dropping 1 million+ sales of the new Pokemon games – Black and White – and you get a recipe for success.
“Both Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo DS family had a strong month, indicating that Nintendo has something for everyone,” said Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America’s senior director of Corporate Communications. “Nintendo provides people with the best video game experiences, from 3D visuals without special glasses to a touch-screen interface to motion controls.”
Nintendo gamers will have plenty of time to buy into the new handheld’s upcoming games, including the remastered “Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” (out this summer) and a new Starfox title.
